Shiva is the ultimate man and Parvati the ultimate woman. Shiva is shava without her and so is Parvati, lifeless without him. Parvati was the reincarnation of Sati, Shiva’s first wife, but she was born with all the qualities that Sati did not perfect. Parvati is the Shakti to Shiva’s being. They are one. Shiva is Shakti and Shakti is Shiva.
