Indian history has significant phace in Vedas. Vedas is not only religious book, but also provides us knowledge about ancient Indian history. The Rigveda, however, refer to the Indus as Sindhu. In 518 BC, Darius 1, the persian emperor, conquered the area, and due to difficulty in pronouncing the initial 's', turned Sindhu to Hindu. Later, the Greek termed Hindu as Indus.
