Something in the cabin

The air was cold, the forest was gloomy, with the river rushing every calming and horrifying. Something creeping outside of my tent. My nose sniffles. I could hear snaps, like the traps I set were snapping. The shadows I could see outside of my tent, were like the nightmares I had as a child. Or memories I once had, the scaring ones. Illuminating in my eyes. Waiting for something to happen. The river stopped and the air got warmer on my ear like someone or something was blowing on it. I turned around and I saw it. Big, horrifying, black, long, cold figure. All I could see was its teeth, big and white.

A few hours before- I was forced to go. I really didn’t want to. Camping with papa was annoying, although we get smores, I was always in the same area, alone, in a tent. But this year we were going somewhere else because they found a couple bodies of campers ripped up and hung up the trees. My grandpa wanted to go still, but my grandma wanted us to not.

We got to the camp site and there was a cabin next to it with a river running next to it. The cabin was small and had holes in it. There was a lot of graffiti on the walls. And something smelled terrible! It smelled something dead. My grandpa wanted to check it out, but it was already getting dark and we didn’t have time. So, we quickly set up the camp site, had diner, then went to bed.
