Ramesh was born as an elder son of his parents on May 19, 1978, in the middle-class family of Dolakha. His father used to work as a farmer whereas his mother used to spend time on traditional household chores. Ramesh’s childhood before his mother’s departure was joyful. However, the educational progress of Ramesh got disturbed due to the early departure of his mother. The struggle of Ramesh had begun after the age of 9 when his mother passed away. Child consciousness in Ramesh became refined with the flow of time. Ramesh was tempted to study and writing poems early from his childhood. Today, Ramesh has become the name of an established lyricist in Nepali music. Ramesh is a quiet and affable person. He enjoys fighting with the hardships that come in life. He is a goal-oriented person who never gives up without achieving objective. Ramesh left home at 11 for the education. At the first look, Ramesh appears to be funny, but he is a serious lyricist. There seems to be some kind of absence of happiness or a blankness in his face. So, when we get closer, the seriousness of him starts to manifest. One day, Ramesh’s relative made him adopted by a local businessman in Charikot. He began to go to school at the day working at other times as child labor. While studying at Kalinchwok Secondary School, he had shown his extracurricular capacity. The school family did not leave anything to cheer his creation which motivated him to continue. After his high school, Ramesh came Kathmandu for higher education. Even then, writing songs became a passion to Ramesh. While studying at Pulchowk engineering campus, he had the opportunity to meet well-known music workers of the time. Ramesh got togetherness with friends who were interested in writing. The companionship with classmates and friends of Pulchwok Campus had widened his lyrical writing. The living in Kathmandu gave him an opportunity to mature his writing and be connected with the national level music workers. The feedback from seniors made Ramesh more analytical, critical and creative in writing lyrics. In 2000, he debuted in Nepali music with a song sang by Asodha Parajuri. Then, writing lyrics has become a passion to Ramesh so, he won’t run away from plying with words. Ramesh creates the lyrics only after having a kind of research on the context. He respects social norms, values, and traditions while creating the theme. He strives to take society in a positive way through songs. Therefore, creations of Ramesh aim to bring positive change through entertainment. His lyrics are poetic in in-depth, creative, full of originality and based on folklore. Similarly, Ramesh writes the lyrics on the global issue in English. Till Ramesh has 50 lyrics in the English language. Ramesh has many national-level music awards and honors. He received first place in the modern song competition organized by Radio Nepal in 2009. This award gave him an extra sense of responsibility. Likewise, he was recently honored with the 8th Prabhu Pay Music Khabar Music Award for the best patriotic song of the year. Ramesh has received the Industrial Peace Nepal Music Award for the best pop lyrics of the year. He won the second Sagarmatha Music Award and Genius Music Award for writing excellent lyrics. Besides, many music workers have received awards for the best song with his superb lyrics. Dozens of his songs have had the opportunity of being nominated as the best five songs.
