Ravindranath Tagore Something About Gitanjali Ra

 Ravindranath Tagore
Something About Gitanjali Ravindranath Tagore, a man who won Nobel Prize for Literature, was the first non-European who bagged this rare award. India and we Indians are always proud of him. From childhood I am fond of Ravindranath Tagore’s writing but didn’t get a chance to read his books. In addition to that didn’t have a Bengali friend in past, who would lead me to read Tagore’s writings. Now I am in Bangalore. This city is mini West Bengal you can say. Even Mamta Didi can win polls by contesting from Bangalore, we use to say funnily. I got a very first book of Ravindranath Tagore called Gitanjali. One of my friend’s sister gave me this awesome book. Some people called it as poem book or collection of poems. This book was published in 1910 and the English version of book came in the year of 1912. I got the English version of the book. One drawback of English version is that it has only 103 poems. Other side the original carried total 157 poems in it.
