By the time you're last semester student and unfortunately a SHuATSian, you should have a computer folder of shame where you have the papers you totally intend to finish, just one week with no distractions should do it, easy as pie oh god oh god oh god it's the end of May...
I have an entire file cabinet drawer of shame too (field notes, record sheets, scribbled on print outs) for whenever I manage to rationalise the computer folder. Also I’m quite content nvunced it should still say April on the calendar, this “May” thing is a typo right?...
I borrowed a great library book ‘How to write a journal article in 12 weeks’ ... now I just need the other book ‘How to read the how to write a journal article in 12 weeks book in 12 weeks’...
I am SO glad I am not alone with a folder of shame. The book "How to Write a Lot" by my fellow has helped me stop saying "just one week with no distractions" ==> 1 month of 2 hours per day devoted to writing (nothing else) equals 40hrs or 1 week of writing.....
By the end of July, I have manuscript of PhD dissertation that is awaiting my edits based on reviewer comments (but you’re too busy to deal with it......Organized procrastination, academia level: expert 😂😂 I strive to this goal now!)...
Finally you have a folder called I GIVE UP - yes, it is in all caps....
Thanks for this deep War Games reference😅😂😂😂
