Tik Tok banned in India : TikTok download has been blocked by Apple and Google.
The option to download TikTok, a popular video-sharing app, has vanished from Google and Apple app stores in India after the Madras High Court banned its downloads, in setback for its Chinese developer Bytedance Technology's efforts to tap India's growing internet content market. Users still looking to download Tik Tok, have been reported to be looking for 'TikTok download' and 'Tik Tok apk' online to gain access to the app. TikTok ban alsotriggered a series of jokes and memes on social media.
Downloading TikTok allows users to create and share short videos with special effects which are hugely popular in India but conservative pressure groups and politicians say its content is inappropriate.
The high court in Tamil Nadu asked the government on April 3 to ban TikTok downloads, saying it encouraged pornography and warning that sexual predators could target child users.
The government sent a letter requesting Apple and Google to follow the state court's order and not allow TikTok download, according to an IT ministry official.
Google blocked access to TikTok download in its Play store in India to comply with the court's directive, a person with direct knowledge told Reuters on Tuesday. TikTok app was not available for download in the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store on Wednesday.
Google said in a statement it does not comment on individual apps but adheres to local laws. Apple did not respond to requests for comment.
A spokesman for TikTok in India declined to comment on the app's removal, saying the matter was still in the courts.
The company had faith in the judicial system and was "optimistic about an outcome that would be well received by" its millions of users in India, he added.
What is TikTok Download?
TikTok had been downloaded more than 240 million times in India, app analytics firm Sensor Tower said in February. More than 30 million users installed the app in January 2019, 12 times more than in the same month last year.
Jokes, clips and footage related to India's thriving movie industry dominate the app's platform, along with memes and videos in which youngsters, some scantily clad, lip-sync and dance to popular music.
Bytedance challenged the court's ban order in the Supreme Court last week, saying it went against freedom of speech rights.
The top court had referred the case back to the state court, where a judge on Tuesday rejected Bytedance's request to put the ban order on hold, K. Neelamegam, a lawyer arguing against Bytedance in the case, said.opti
The state court has requested written submissions from Bytedance in the case and has scheduled its next hearing for April 24. Till then TikTok download is unlikely to reappear.
In its Supreme Court filing, Bytedance argued that a "very minuscule" proportion of TikTok content was considered inappropriate or obscene.
The company employs more than 250 people in India and had plans for more investment as it expands the business, it said.

First of all, very good question.
There's a several reasons for this-
India is a conservative religious country which means majority of people irrespect of religion are conservative and religious
Hindus have a lot of problems with each other, they are not united like Muslims, even in Sunni and Shia battle one can see their unity when it comes to Islam. Well, Hindus generally isn't that religious obsessed at least in 2019 and that goes even for people in RSS etc. Indians are beginning to slowly become more rational type, as I said before even those who are from extremely religious conservative hindu family. They are more interested in having a good job with pay so they are now obsessed with education replacing religion. Education indirectly helping Hindus becoming more rational minded even those who are from religious conservative hindu family. They probably aren't aware of this. So the point is name Islam and you will see a lot of Muslims will stand up but that's not the case with Hindus.
Hindus aren't united as we are various types, probably more than any other group of people in the world and that plays it's part. So political parties (Congress and Left) can actually play minority politics and expect to have an united front. It's actually quite easy comparatively. Congress understood this quite early and they first started to play this minority appeasement Muslim politics. BJP only started to play this majority politics as an answer to Congress's minority Muslim appeasement politics in recent times as they are quite a new party compared to Congress
Muslims have either most or second most large population in India in the world so it's pretty easy to play minority politics appeasing Muslims in India. Although officially they are minority but population wise they are actually second majority after Hindus. So in a way, Left and Congress parties are actually playing majority politics excluding Hindus :D
As I said before, India is a conservative religious country but it is slowly but surely changing. But still it is conservative and religious. So a non religious hindu demography is a real minority in India. But it is increasing but it is still horribly outnumbered by Muslims so you can understand why BJP isn't interested :D
Your question is good because non religious Hindus are more united than religious Hindus and they are increasing. But they need a third party to represent them. But also it's not as simple also as some could be leftist congress supporters and rest could be right wing nationalist.
So it's quite complex.
As the population of India grows, Indian politics will change also, as of now situation is dictating terms
Unless the situation is changing, the politics won't.
So we have to wait for few more years to see any kind of change
Parthiv Patel back in India Test team
More than eight years after his previous Test match, and four years after his last international, wicket keeper Parthiv Patel has earned a recall to India's Test team.
Updated India squad
Virat Kohli (capt), Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, M Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Karun Nair, Parthiv Patel (wk), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya
At 17 years and 153 days, Parthiv Patel Became Test cricket's youngest wicket keeper in 2002; now he will be the second-oldest member in the XI if no other change is made to the side that took field in Visakhapatnam.
Parthiv came in because of an injury to first-choice keeper Wriddhiman Saha, who strained his left thigh during the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. He will not play the third Test to avoid aggravating the injury.
The announcement came about 15 hours after the India squad had been announced with only one change. Gautam Gambhir had been dropped with Bhuvneshwar Kumar's return bolstering the pace department.
In a release, the BCCI said: "As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest and will not play in the next Test match of the series. Parthiv Patel will replace Saha in the Indian team for the third Test." The match is set to be played from November 26 in Mohali.
Parthiv, 31, was ahead of other candidates to fill Saha's role because he offers the option of a left-hand batsman. Also, it is understood that the selectors felt it was too early to hand a debut to the 19-year-old Rishabh Pant, who has hit a triple-hundred for Delhi this Ranji Trophy season and smashed a 48-ball ton in a game in which he scored twin centuries.
The other big contender was Madhya Pradesh's Naman Ojha, who played the last Test that Saha missed. Ojha missed the start of the Ranji Trophy with injury. However, he did play MP's last match.
Tamil Nadu's Dinesh Karthik, who has also had a good recent run with the bat, is believed to have lost to Parthiv because of the latter's better glove work and the left-hand batting variation.
Parthiv, who last played Test cricket in August 2008, also had a fine start to the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy with the bat for Gujarat. He scored 415 runs in his first eight innings at 59.28, with three fifties and a hundred. The century came in the previous round of games, in Gujarat's second innings against MP. It was a brisk, unbeaten knock: 139 not out off 170 balls.
"Parthiv was considered going by form and also the wicketkeeping aspect. More importantly, being a left-hand bat - England have a legspinner and a left-arm spinner in Adil Rashid and Zafar Ansari. So, a left-hander will add more to the team," a BCCI official told.
"Naman had some injuries; he didn't play in the first three-four matches of the Ranji Trophy this year. As far as keeping is concerned as well, Parthiv stands ahead of Dinesh Karthik. Overall, as a package, he fits the team's requirements. There is no doubt that Parthiv's glove work has improved considerably in the last few years. Not sure which position he will bat in; it is up to the team now."
Parthiv debuted in England in 2002, and has played 20 Tests till date for 41 catches, eight stumpings and 683 runs at 29.69 with a best of 69.

How can one make Indian TV shows and movies world's best?
Right now, it almost impossible. One can even get rid off the 'almost' from here.
Money is an issue. But then we can do what we did with IPL which made IPL one of richest sporting league in the world.
The problem is with then Indian society.
See, India is basically a modern country based on old world morality and principal and therefore it is limited in lots of ways compared to respective power houses.
Therefore sensor board is a huge problem.
It makes even adult feel like kids.
The reality though is telling a different story as this is an extremely connected world now therefore nothing is restricted anymore like it used to be therefore people get to experience a lot of things from world which earlier wasn't available.
This makes sensor board even more ridiculous in present times.
See, one thing we need to understand as long as certain number of people from past eras are alive, sensor board will never be abolished from India.
So one must look at other ways to make things done.
Foreign online movies and TV show platform can be a good solution here.
As we all know in internet, everything can be available and also Indian laws don't apply on these platforms.
See, we can try to create a system where Indian companies are investing a lot of money into this and directors are having all the freedom to create international standards content without getting restricted by the sensor board.
But problems will be with return.
Let me explain little more deeply-
Let's take an example like game of thrones-
Star World show it in India with a lot of sensoring.
Like that these movies can also be shown in movie theatre with sensoring by sensor board.
Those who want to watch without sensor will have option of watching it in those foreign online platforms where Indian sensor board has no legal authority.
See, end of the days, in the beginning, hype solve most problems. If something like this ever materialize in India, then hype will take care of promoting issues.
Movies can be made in English, and also in all the 8-9 Indian languages just like Bahubali did with very good dubbed version.
If dubbed version isn't going to make movie good then one always have option of very good subtitles.
This will solve lots of problem of return.
As the time progress, people will know how to make this whole process better and therefore better return.
This has also happened with IPL. In the first year, franchises have lost a lot of money.
But now everyone can see the results.
Remember, India's young population is growing each day, and their demands are different from past generations. This is why Bollywood is failed to impress Indian young viewers like it used to even 8-10 years ago.
And then because it is connected to the world platforms.
International movie producing house will also start to invest a lot of money into this project, they already do by the way in some of the Bollywood movies.
One must remember, I mentioned Game of thrones because it is liked by Indian viewers as well as western viewers. So one cannot make project like Lion, Slamdog millionaire or some of those festival movies and expect to be loved by Indians. Things will not change even then.
Indian people will still like big extravaganza like that but unlike Bollywood, it will be well made and with little holes like international projects as sensor board will not come in the way of creativity and money factors will also be supportive. The only difference will be it is from Indian point of view as oppose to foreign.
This is a sure way to even challenge mighty God like Hollywood one day.
