China to send 30 missions into space in 2017
China plans to conduct some 30 space launch missions in 2017, a record-breaking number in the country's space history, a media report said.
According to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Long March-5and Long March-7 rockets will be used to carry out most of the space missions this year, the People’s Daily reported on Wednesday.Long March-5 is China’s largest carrier rocket. The successful test launch of the vehicle in November in South China’s Hainan Province will pave the way for space station construction, analysts said.Wang Yu, general director of the Long March-5 program, said 2017 is a critical year for China’s new generation of carrier rockets and the Long March-5 rockets will carry Chang’e-5 probe to the space. The probe will land on the moon, collect samples and return to Earth. On the other hand, Long March-7, the more powerful version of Long March-2, will send China’s first cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1 into the space in the first half of 2017, according to Wang Zhaoyao, director of China Manned Space Engineering Office.
Tianzhou-1 is expected to dock with Tiangong-2 space lab and conduct experiments on propellant supplement.China conducted 22 launch missions in 2016 and 19 in 2015. The country successfully tested its Long March-7 rocket in June last year and has gradually shifted to new generation rockets that reduce the use of toxic rocket fuels.Last Month, China released a white paper on space activities, announcing plans to soft land Chang’e-5 on the moon by the end of 2017 and launch its first Mars probe by 2020.
This philosopher 'predicted' what would happen in 2017
He was right about Trump and Modi. Will he be right about 2017?
Mention the name Nostradamus and some people will say that he predicted almost the entire history of humankind. Two of his 'predictions' seem to have come true with the victory of Donald Trump and the rise of Narendra Modi.
He 'predicted' the rise of "the great shameless, audacious bawler". Some people have interpreted this as being about Trump.
His prophecies written in four line verses called quatrains and in different languages have been open to study and interpretation for years now.
Here are some verses from his work that could very well be about what we can expect in 2017.
1. Floods and droughts
For forty years the rainbow will not be seen.
For forty years it will be seen every day.
The dry earth will grow more parched,
and there will be great floods when it is seen.
Nostradamus could very well be talking about climate change which has been a big issue for years now. Will climate change reach fever pitch in 2017?
2. A battle during the sunset
Shortly before sun set, battle is engaged.
A great nation is uncertain.
Overcome, the sea port makes no answer,
the bridge and the grave both in foreign places.
Could this be about the attack on Mosul where Daesh is on the run?
3. A time of peace prosperity
Pestilences extinguished, the world becomes smaller,
for a long time the lands will be inhabited peacefully.
People will travel safely through the sky (over) land and seas:
then wars will start up again.
It would be great if there were no conflicts for a while. But the question is could we maintain the peace? Or would wars start again as is stated in the last verse of the quatrain.
4. A controversy in a royal family
Letters are found in the queen's chests,
no signature and no name of the author.
The ruse will conceal the offers;
so that they do not know who the lover is.
Which country is it? With so much talk about the British monarchy in the past year, could it be about the Queen?
5. The waning power of the West
Twice put up and twice cast down,
the East will also weaken the West.
Its adversary after several battles
chased by sea will fail at time of need.
In recent news, China and Russia have been on the rise. The United States will aim to focus on internal matters once Trump comes to power. The property mogul has time and again said that, with the help of his fellow Americans, he will "Make America great again". Could this affect the United States' power equation with countries in the Far East?
NASA cuts livestream video feed right as UFO appears to enter Earth's atmosphere
NASA, much like Ted Cruz, is no stranger to bizarre conspiracy theories. But this one might just top all its other-worldly predecessors.
Alien hunters believe they spotted a UFO entering the earth's atmosphere on July 9 via NASA's International Space Station's live feed.
But wait, the plot gets even thicker -- shortly after the 'UFO' is seen entering the atmosphere, the ISS feed was inexplicably cut due to "signal loss."
The alleged alien invasion was first reported by the UFO hunter Streetcap1 in a YouTube video which has since been viewed over half a million times. Some are guessing the object may be the Chinese space station Tiangong-1, which China has lost contact with, returning to Earth .Others, including Streetcap1, believe the answer may be a lot simpler.
"Remember a ufo is an unidentified flying object," he wrote in his video's description. "This could well be a meteor or the like."
Tabatha Thompson, a spokesperson for NASA, put out a statement denying NASA technicians advertently shut down the transmission when UFO's appear.
"The station regularly passes out of range of the Tracking and Relay Data Satellites (TDRS) used to send and receive video, voice and telemetry from the station," she said in an email to Valuewalk.com. "For video, whenever we lose signal (video comes down on our higher bandwidth, called KU) the cameras will show a blue screen (indicating no signal) or a preset video slate, depending on where you are watching the feed."
Ok, so maybe NASA claims the loss of video is due to "technical difficulties" ... but we're pretty sure we know what's really going on here.
