"THE CHAOS IN OUR MIND... Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.... If all mankind were to disappear, the world would regenerate back to the rich state of equilibrium that existed ten thousand years ago. If insects were to vanish, the environment would collapse into chaos. Undermine their pompous authority, reject their moral standards, make anarchy and disorder your trademarks. Cause as much chaos and disruption as possible but don't let them take you ALIVE."

Thanks and gratitude to Cijo sir and ma'am Nandita Samant for their wonderful words of appreciation Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"Something I Look at-52" is a very relevant poem in the backdrop of two issues of major importance dominating the discourses of our society namely privacy issue and the issue related to the freedom of expression, both are hotly debated topics at the present time. The poem begins by stating clearly that we are guaranteed the various types of freedoms as per the constitution of india and the right to various freedoms is enshrined in the constitutional documents of many countries the world over as well. But there is a rider or condition here in terms of us enjoying our freedom that is that we can exercise our freedoms as long as they don't violate our fellow human beings ability to enjoy their freedoms. In fact when we have freedom,we need to carry it out in a judicious fashion altogether,we don't have any right to misuse the freedom that is granted or bestowed upon us by the constitutional frameworks of various countries around the world.Freedom must enable individuals to attain full growth and development in terms of their talents, abilities and potentialities and freedom also implies that we also attach the same importance to others need in relation to themselves enjoying various freedoms they are entitled to.Freedom is the foundation on which a democratic society is built up soundly and firmly. When people have real freedom only, people can make genuine progress in life, when it comes to freedom of expression also the same maxim can be applied. Our attitude towards freedom must be put in the following mould that is that"I absolutely disagree with what you say but I shall defend to my death your right to say it".Freedom is not a one-way traffic rather real freedom carries plenty of duties, responsibilities and obligations. SOMETHING I LOOK AT-52
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

The more free we are, the more
we are to restrain ourselves and see
that our freedom does not infringe upon
the right of others to enjoy the same

Freedom is an atmosphere that gives one the opportunity to become oneself
freedom is a will, an ardent desire
to see others at par

Freedom is the foundation upon which
the superstructure of democracy is built
freedom is that basic right which gives
meaning and substance to all other rights
fundamental to the development of man

freedom is a right, the corresponding duty
of which is to create that environment
where each can live with equal dignity

freedom is a state of mind where
the spirit of tolerance and compromise imbibe where there is no fear, hatred and jealousy, pride and prejudice, sectarian and parochial loyalties and it equips one to make a value-free empirical analysis and
see and interpret a situation as it is

Freedom is not a license to do
anything one likes is always subject
to decency and morality, the law of
the land, social norms and common good
or else our unrestricted freedom will
land us in a state of anarchy
where it will be a war of
each against all

"Here is the critical appreciation of my poem"SOMETHING I LOOK AT-48" by non-other than the eminent poet and internationally acclaimed literary critic Prof Cijo Joseph Channel. Thanks and gratitude sir for your words of appreciation Dear Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"Something I Look at -48" is a poem that exhorts human beings to shun physical violence for the pursuance of principles such as peace and love. The wars of the past didn't fetch anything to humanity except destruction and chaos in a big way. The forces adrift to the interests of human beings had ultimate victories in all these wars. Instead of indulging in physical violence, we need to wage wars against all vices besetting this universe. There are many ideologies of highly objectionable nature existing in the universe, we need to wage wars against such ideologies of nasty pedigrees. We need to work earnestly for a world which promotes human values in letter and spirit. Kudos to you for composing such a poem of magnificent nature. SOMETHING I LOOK AT-48
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

History tells the consequences of war with
none emerging a complete winner
the victor and vanquished losing the
game one way or other, it is
the humanity that is the greatest loser and
the force inimical to man and
his development the ultimate victor

If one is to wage a war
it is to be against oneself
his negative emotions and instincts
against pride and prejudice, hatred and
jealousy, poverty and illiteracy, regionalism
and religious fanaticism, parochialism, economic disparity and all those
forces that divide and put artificial
barriers between man and man
nation and nation, region and region

The battle is for a better tomorrow
a new world order, more just and
egalitarian where people have the opportunity to develop in an atmosphere of freedom
and peace to become themselves
to fight the battle, one does not
need a gun, but a pair of
eyes that see no disparity, a heart
that beats for humanity, a mind that
is committed to human values
and the will to see that glorious
tomorrow and the vision to make it a
reality

the force inimical to man and
his development the ultimate victor

If one is to wage a war
it is to be against oneself
his negative emotions and instincts
against pride and prejudice, hatred and
jealousy, poverty and illiteracy, regionalism
and religious fanaticism, parochialism, economic disparity and all those
forces that divide and put artificial
barriers between man and man
nation and nation, region and region

The battle is for a better tomorrow
a new world order, more just and
egalitarian where people have the opportunity to develop in an atmosphere of freedom
and peace to become themselves
to fight the battle, one does not
need a gun, but a pair of
eyes that see no disparity, a heart
that beats for humanity, a mind that
is committed to human values
and the will to see that glorious
tomorrow and the vision to make it a
reality

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-52
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

The more free we are, the more
we are to restrain ourselves and see
that our freedom does not infringe upon
the right of others to enjoy the same

Freedom is an atmosphere that gives one the opportunity to become oneself
freedom is a will, an ardent desire
to see others at par

Freedom is the foundation upon which
the superstructure of democracy is built
freedom is that basic right which gives
meaning and substance to all other rights
fundamental to the development of man

freedom is a right, the corresponding duty
of which is to create that environment
where each can live with equal dignity

freedom is a state of mind where
the spirit of tolerance and compromise imbibe where there is no fear, hatred and jealousy, pride and prejudice, sectarian and parochial loyalties and it equips one to make a value-free empirical analysis and
see and interpret a situation as it is

Freedom is not a license to do
anything one likes is always subject
to decency and morality, the law of

or else our unrestricted freedom will
land us in a state of anarchy
where it will be a war of

Thanks and gratitude sir for your words of appreciation Dear Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"Something I Look at -48" is a poem that exhorts human beings to shun physical violence for the pursuance of principles such as peace and love. The wars of the past didn't fetch anything to humanity except destruction and chaos in a big way. The forces adrift to the interests of human beings had ultimate victories in all these wars. Instead of indulging in physical violence, we need to wage wars against all vices besetting this universe. There are many ideologies of highly objectionable nature existing in the universe, we need to wage wars against such ideologies of nasty pedigrees. We need to work earnestly for a world which promotes human values in letter and spirit. Kudos to you for composing such a poem of magnificent nature.

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-48
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

History tells the consequences of war with
none emerging a complete winner
the victor and vanquished losing the
game one way or other, it is
the humanity that is the greatest loser and
the force inimical to man and
his development the ultimate victor

If one is to wage a war
it is to be against oneself
his negative emotions and instincts
against pride and prejudice, hatred and
jealousy, poverty and illiteracy, regionalism
and religious fanaticism, parochialism, economic disparity and all those
forces that divide and put artificial
barriers between man and man
nation and nation, region and region

The battle is for a better tomorrow
a new world order, more just and
egalitarian where people have the opportunity to develop in an atmosphere of freedom
and peace to become themselves
to fight the battle, one does not
need a gun, but a pair of
eyes that see no disparity, a heart
that beats for humanity, a mind that
is committed to human values
and the will to see that glorious
tomorrow and the vision to make it a
reality
