In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII ordered a new calendar (the Gregorian Calendar) to replace the old Julian Calendar. The new calendar called for New Year's Day to be celebrated Jan. 1. That year, France adopted the reformed calendar and shifted New Year's day to Jan. 1. According to a popular explanation, many people either refused to accept the new date, or did not learn about it, and continued to celebrate New Year's Day on April 1. Other people began to make fun of these traditionalists, sending them on "fool's errands" or trying to trick them into believing something false. Eventually, the practice spread throughout Europe.
Bura Na Mano Holi Hai
Holi - An interesting Indian festival - which is celebrated on different dates as per English Calendar and I
cannot officially bookmark it to a particular date because Hindu calendar doesn't run on a normal English calendar. It has some other, very deep logic for putting dates/days etc.
Today - People come together, burn some wood, eat some sweet - because "Holika" who supposedly was blessed that she can't be burnt by fire, sat in the fire along with a boy (who was true and god's favourite). And because the kid was god's owned boy (supposedly we are not, and please do not try this at home) Holika got burnt by the fire and the kid got saved.
And hence, we celebrate Holi, by burning wood, eating sweets, putting colours, water, mud etc on other people's faces and saying "Happi Holi". (Wow! So Amazing)
Little Rich people enjoy this festival with elegance, inviting other rich people who will come together in posh farm, sitting by the side of a pool in white dress, and open a bottle (you know what I mean), put some music (pop/Jazz - where there will be zero mention of the word "Holi") and dance and say Holi. (Wow! So Amazing)
Lecherous ass will use this day to the fullest, so fulfil any inner desire and will pronounce "Bura na Mano Holi Hai". And the society, will smile and say women that "Hahahahah What a Funny Guy". (Wow! Again this is amazing)
While I am not against culture, the practices, the celebration and congregation of the long-lived customary practice, but little with the fact that "Holi" is now commercialized and marketed so much that it is a pain in the ass.
1. If I don't want to play Holi with colours, water, mud - and just want to celebrate the victory of good over evil by burning wood and eating sweets - I cannot. Because other people will force you into, and tell you as if this was a legal responsibility to play Holi if you were born as a human in India.
2. I hate being soaked in to water, color and then wasting half of the day in clearing that up and the next day when I have to again think, I should have played it more simple. Whereas, I like the festival and love to see people enjoying it,
Okay, let me stop here before I overkill this day with the sarcastic hyperbolic remark. Let people have fun and enjoy seeing them have fun at a distance.
To all other - Wish you a Happy Holi.
1. Wish you realise and understand that no matter how strong the evil is, no matter how powerful the evil looks like - it is always the truth which wins over evil. Because while Prahalad was the boy of the god, and so is both evil and good. God wants both types of people to co-exist in the society, so that God can prove time and again with different types of examples that "Be Good"
2. With colours, and water - try and washdown small evils in your mind and heart.
3. Connect with all those friends, family, people you love and use this occasion to remind them, greet them, spread the love again.
No more Gyan, that's all for now. Njoy Holi!

Tik Tok banned in India : TikTok download has been blocked by Apple and Google.
The option to download TikTok, a popular video-sharing app, has vanished from Google and Apple app stores in India after the Madras High Court banned its downloads, in setback for its Chinese developer Bytedance Technology's efforts to tap India's growing internet content market. Users still looking to download Tik Tok, have been reported to be looking for 'TikTok download' and 'Tik Tok apk' online to gain access to the app. TikTok ban alsotriggered a series of jokes and memes on social media.
Downloading TikTok allows users to create and share short videos with special effects which are hugely popular in India but conservative pressure groups and politicians say its content is inappropriate.
The high court in Tamil Nadu asked the government on April 3 to ban TikTok downloads, saying it encouraged pornography and warning that sexual predators could target child users.
The government sent a letter requesting Apple and Google to follow the state court's order and not allow TikTok download, according to an IT ministry official.
Google blocked access to TikTok download in its Play store in India to comply with the court's directive, a person with direct knowledge told Reuters on Tuesday. TikTok app was not available for download in the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store on Wednesday.
Google said in a statement it does not comment on individual apps but adheres to local laws. Apple did not respond to requests for comment.
A spokesman for TikTok in India declined to comment on the app's removal, saying the matter was still in the courts.
The company had faith in the judicial system and was "optimistic about an outcome that would be well received by" its millions of users in India, he added.
What is TikTok Download?
TikTok had been downloaded more than 240 million times in India, app analytics firm Sensor Tower said in February. More than 30 million users installed the app in January 2019, 12 times more than in the same month last year.
Jokes, clips and footage related to India's thriving movie industry dominate the app's platform, along with memes and videos in which youngsters, some scantily clad, lip-sync and dance to popular music.
Bytedance challenged the court's ban order in the Supreme Court last week, saying it went against freedom of speech rights.
The top court had referred the case back to the state court, where a judge on Tuesday rejected Bytedance's request to put the ban order on hold, K. Neelamegam, a lawyer arguing against Bytedance in the case, said.opti
The state court has requested written submissions from Bytedance in the case and has scheduled its next hearing for April 24. Till then TikTok download is unlikely to reappear.
In its Supreme Court filing, Bytedance argued that a "very minuscule" proportion of TikTok content was considered inappropriate or obscene.
The company employs more than 250 people in India and had plans for more investment as it expands the business, it said.

April Is The Nicest Month
“T.S. Eliot wrote in 1922 that ‘April is the cruelest month,’ but we quite disagree. April is the month when spring has finally come so nature starts blooming, providing us with more time to go out into the nature and enjoy nice weather, long walks, and riding a bike. This is our message to you: go out and play. We surely will.” — Designed by PopArt Studio from Serbia.

So I just brought all together and made my ‘Funshower’, a funny pun!” — Designed by Stefano Marchini from Italy.

Home Sweet Home
“A smiling earth is how I wish to think of my home planet. I like to believe that whenever a plantling gets its root deep into the soil, or when a dolphin jumps out of the water, the earth must be getting tickled, bringing a wide grin on its face. So this World Earth Day, let’s promote afforestation, protect the wildlife and its habitat. Let’s make the earth smile forever.” — Designed by Acodez IT Solutions from India.
“April showers bring May flowers, and what better way to enjoy rainy weather than to get stuck in a surreal book, in a comfy nook, with a kettle of tea!” — Designed by Brooke Coraldi from the United States.
The Kite Festival
“Every year, Washington DC’s Kite Festival is a welcome sight in spring. The National Mall is transformed by colorful serpents, butterflies, and homemade winged crafts and by the families who come from across the city to enjoy their aerial stunts over a picnic at the base of the Washington Monument.” — Designed by Dawn Washelesky from Washington, DC.
“This month is International Guitar Month! Time to get out your guitar and play. As a graphic designer/illustrator seeing all the variations of guitar shapes begs to be used for a fun design. Search the guitar shapes represented and see if you see one similar to yours, or see if you can identify some of the different styles that some famous guitarists have played (BTW, Prince’s guitar is in there and purple is just a cool color).” — Designed by Karen Frolo from the United States.

Spring Is In The Air
“‘When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons retain their essential rhythm. However these are used, my aim is to pay tribute to these sixteen and drive baby-steppers to great inspirers.” — Designed by Juliane Bone from California.
