AminTikTok Download Not Available Any More. Here's What You Need To Know

Tik Tok download was banned by the Madras High Court in Tamil Nadu on April 3, saying it encouraged pornography and warning that sexual predators could target child users.

Tik Tok banned in India : TikTok download has been blocked by Apple and Google.

New Delhi:

The option to download TikTok, a popular video-sharing app, has vanished from Google and Apple app stores in India after the Madras High Court banned its downloads, in setback for its Chinese developer Bytedance Technology's efforts to tap India's growing internet content market. Users still looking to download Tik Tok, have been reported to be looking for 'TikTok download' and 'Tik Tok apk' online to gain access to the app. TikTok ban alsotriggered a series of jokes and memes on social media.

Downloading TikTok allows users to create and share short videos with special effects which are hugely popular in India but conservative pressure groups and politicians say its content is inappropriate.

The high court in Tamil Nadu asked the government on April 3 to ban TikTok downloads, saying it encouraged pornography and warning that sexual predators could target child users.

The government sent a letter requesting Apple and Google to follow the state court's order and not allow TikTok download, according to an IT ministry official.

Google blocked access to TikTok download in its Play store in India to comply with the court's directive, a person with direct knowledge told Reuters on Tuesday. TikTok app was not available for download in the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store on Wednesday.

Google said in a statement it does not comment on individual apps but adheres to local laws. Apple did not respond to requests for comment.

A spokesman for TikTok in India declined to comment on the app's removal, saying the matter was still in the courts.

The company had faith in the judicial system and was "optimistic about an outcome that would be well received by" its millions of users in India, he added.

What is TikTok Download?

TikTok had been downloaded more than 240 million times in India, app analytics firm Sensor Tower said in February. More than 30 million users installed the app in January 2019, 12 times more than in the same month last year.

Jokes, clips and footage related to India's thriving movie industry dominate the app's platform, along with memes and videos in which youngsters, some scantily clad, lip-sync and dance to popular music.

Bytedance challenged the court's ban order in the Supreme Court last week, saying it went against freedom of speech rights.

The top court had referred the case back to the state court, where a judge on Tuesday rejected Bytedance's request to put the ban order on hold, K. Neelamegam, a lawyer arguing against Bytedance in the case, said.opti

The state court has requested written submissions from Bytedance in the case and has scheduled its next hearing for April 24. Till then TikTok download is unlikely to reappear.

In its Supreme Court filing, Bytedance argued that a "very minuscule" proportion of TikTok content was considered inappropriate or obscene.

The company employs more than 250 people in India and had plans for more investment as it expands the business, it said.

NASA cuts livestream video feed right as UFO appears to enter Earth's atmosphere
NASA, much like Ted Cruz, is no stranger to bizarre conspiracy theories. But this one might just top all its other-worldly predecessors.
Alien hunters believe they spotted a UFO entering the earth's atmosphere on July 9 via NASA's International Space Station's live feed.
But wait, the plot gets even thicker -- shortly after the 'UFO' is seen entering the atmosphere, the ISS feed was inexplicably cut due to "signal loss."
The alleged alien invasion was first reported by the UFO hunter Streetcap1 in a YouTube video which has since been viewed over half a million times. Some are guessing the object may be the Chinese space station Tiangong-1, which China has lost contact with, returning to Earth .Others, including Streetcap1, believe the answer may be a lot simpler.
"Remember a ufo is an unidentified flying object," he wrote in his video's description. "This could well be a meteor or the like."
Tabatha Thompson, a spokesperson for NASA, put out a statement denying NASA technicians advertently shut down the transmission when UFO's appear.
"The station regularly passes out of range of the Tracking and Relay Data Satellites (TDRS) used to send and receive video, voice and telemetry from the station," she said in an email to Valuewalk.com. "For video, whenever we lose signal (video comes down on our higher bandwidth, called KU) the cameras will show a blue screen (indicating no signal) or a preset video slate, depending on where you are watching the feed."
Ok, so maybe NASA claims the loss of video is due to "technical difficulties" ... but we're pretty sure we know what's really going on here.

This Video Of Burqa-Clad Saudi Women Skateboarding Is Winning The Internet
A video featuring Saudi women skateboarding, dancing and singing to a catchy song has taken the internet by storm. Published on December 23 on YouTube, the video titled Hwages which roughly translates to 'concerns' in English, has gone viral and garnered nearly 3 million views in less than a fortnight. The video, created by director Majed al-Esa of the Saudi production company 8ies Studios, features a group of Saudi women going against traditions to take up singing, dancing and skateboarding, has sparked a widespread debate across the world, especially in Arab countries. The bold move by the makers to produce a video on the concept of females breaking gender stereotypes in the largely conservative and male-dominated Middle Eastern country, has miffed many. But nonetheless, the video has reached a widespread audience and the number of views on it is still going strong.
While a lot of people have appreciated the maker's intention behind the video - women empowerment and motivating girls to break gender barriers, others haven't really approved of it. You can see the video here and judge for yourself.
