#OpenPoetry THE LOST CHILDHOOD
A childhood lost in chasing the undreamt dreams
The dreams died in hunting them
The kid butchered first at labor
And killed again and again in labour

A forgotten childhood
Immature silly but good
Burnt in the fires of community,
The pathetic society

Is mankind kind enough
to be kind on itself?
Where everyone is
 repeatedly killing himself

Met my own childhood
In my own dead youth ,
My real childhood
Which I never knew

Brawled !!
my bosom friend
Then in infancy now in maturity
Then we both used to won
But today we both lost the game

Am I alive?
Or the kid died
The day he lied
And I arrived

They were not my imagination
It was their hallucination
That I had to die
in order to survive

We were fed the lies
The dustful skies
Made the believe
That the hamlet is inferior

He is breathing
But is he alive?
Lost himself
While chasing the lie

"Thanks and gratitude to Prof Cijo Joseph Chennelil, the eminent poet and literary critc for his fabulous critical appreciation of my poem 'A LOOK AT LIFE-4'. Thank you very much, sir, for your wonderful words of appreciation Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"A Look At Life -4"is a poem that looks at life from various strands, angles and dimensions. As we go through different phases of life, we come across different circumstances and situations which teach us about various aspects of life one way or other. Whatever, it is, life should be cherished to the hilt because when it is gone, it is the endgame, so whatever good things that we can do in this life, we have to do with atmost earnestness and consideration. From childhood to old age, life teaches us many things, in early childhood we are tinged with innocence, then in the adolescent period,we are prone to the nitty grittes of life culminating in antics of various hues and colours, in the middle age,we function as people of obligations and responsibilities and finally in the old age, we wait for the chariot of death to arrive with a sense of resignation. In fact from birth to death, life is a constant struggle and a pillar to post running but we need to enjoy life imbibing its essence and real spirit, otherwise, we shall regret about it at the end. If we are bogged down by the responsibilities and high pressured jobs in our lives, then the prime period of our lives pass by us without ourselves noticing it a bit. A LOOK AT LIFE-4
BY- SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Life
At its various stations
Offers something
Which is just unique and different
Not to be found anywhere else

Life with all its splendours
To be lived and relished
For once you miss something
Will never come back again

From early childhood
To late old age
From naughty looks of a child
To the full bloom of youth
From the agony of mid fifty
To the apathy of late eighty
Life has its own moments

From cradle to the grave
Life is a feast
Never allow duty tension and anxiety
To take the juice out of it
Or else be sure
You will make a total mess of it
