।। ओ३म् ।। वह्नेर्यथा योनिगतस्य मूर्तिन।र् दृश्यते नैव च लिङ्गनाशः। स भूय एवेन्धनयोनिगृह्यस्तद्वोभयं वै प्रणवेन देहे॥ अग्नि की मूर्ति अपने उद्गम अरणि में स्थित होते हुए भी तब तक दिखाई नहीं देती जब तक इसे रगड़ कर अग्नि को प्रज्जवलित नहीं किया जाता यद्यपि अग्नि का सूक्ष्म रूप अरणि में हमेशा विद्यमान रहता है। अरणि को रगड़ कर पुनः उद्गम से अग्नि को प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। इसी प्रकार प्रणव पर ध्यान करके आत्मा को अभिव्यक्त रूप में देखा जाता है जो ध्यान से पूर्व भी अव्यक्त रूप में मौजूद थी। Fire is not perceived in its source, the fire-stick, till it is ignited by percussion.
