सौन्दर्यशास्त्र की परिभाषा सौन्दर्य का अर्थ है – इन्द्रिय सुख की चेतना । सौन्दर्यशास्त्र मानव की कला , चेतना और तत्सम्बन्धी आनन्दानुभूति का विवेचन व विश्लेषण प्रस्तुत करता है । मनुष्य जीवन के अस्तित्व में आने के साथ मनुष्य अन्दर स्वत : ही कलात्मक अभिरुचियाँ प्रकट हुईं , जिसे वह कलाकृतियों और मूर्तियों आदि के माध्यम से प्रकट करता रहा । अत : इन कृत्यों द्वारा जो आनन्दानुभूति प्राप्त होती है इसका व्यवस्थित ढंग से चिन्तन अध्ययन ही सौन्दर्यशास्त्र का विषय है । 18 वीं शताब्दी में एलेक्जेण्डर वामगार्टन ने सर्वप्रथम ‘ एस्थेटिक्स ‘ शब्द का प्रयोग किया था । एस्थेटिक्स ग्रीक भाषा का शब्द है , जिसे हिन्दी में ‘ सौन्दर्यशास्त्र ‘ कहा जाता है । प्रारम्भ में सौन्दर्यशास्त्र का प्रयोग दर्शनशास्त्र की एक शाखा के रूप में होता था , किन्तु धीरे – धीरे सौन्दर्यशास्त्र को ललित कलाओं के सन्दर्भ में रखकर इसका अध्ययन किया जाने लगा । हीगल ने अपने ग्रन्थ ‘ The Philosophy of Fine Arts ‘ में कहा है कि यह एक ऐसा विषय है जिसके अन्तर्गत सौन्दर्य का सम्पूर्ण क्षेत्र आता है । दूसरे शब्दों में कह सकते हैं कि ललित कला , कला का ही एक क्षेत्र है । ©lavanyabeauti beautytherepi #beautiful_life #beautiful
