A bit of conversation with family and friends; a sprinkle of discussion with colleagues regarding work. For the longest time, I've become used to shunning lengthier dialogues with people; hence, this lockdown hasn't affected me much, I think. In fact, self-imposed quarantine has become my norm for more than a year now. Solitude and silence, two of the basic things I crave. Yet, sometimes, one needs that human connection to perpetuate that ability to communicate. Because words become useless when there is no one at the receiving end, and regular social interaction remains the main source of writing inspiration and practice. So since I prefer to be alone, I am slowly losing my command of language. Words spew out of my mouth sans the proper decorum and ethical consideration expected of anyone born into a world filled with people who have the natural capacity to talk.
