She was unhappy with her marriage. There were only fights and more fights. They didn't seem to see eye to eye on anything and couldn't accept the differences.

Full story in caption She was unhappy with her marriage. There were only fights and more fights. They didn't seem to see eye to eye on anything and couldn't accept the differences. She just didn't know what to do. The little time they spent together ended up in fights always. He would storm out of the house and return late. Sometimes sober, many times drunk. She didn't understand what the problem was with him. He was never happy with whatever she did, always comparing her with his mother be it cooking, cleaning or maintaining the house. He didn't pause to think even for a moment that she was only as old as him but everything was expected only of her. His duties ended with shouting at her. It was a miserable life.

One day as she was cleaning the loft, she found an old box. Since she was always curious about what these boxes held, she brought it down with a little balancing act and opened it. It was filled with greeting cards, letters and some gifts. Her interest increased. She opened one card. It was addressed to her husband Naveen. "Dearest Naveen, you're the most special part of my life. More important than my own. Your sweetheart Asha". She was shell shocked. She went through the rest of the cards, letters and gifts. It all conveyed the same. Both of them were deeply in love with each other. She skimmed through to find a diary. The last entry was two months back. Exactly a month before they got married. It read " Now that you have left this world, I have nothing more to live for. I wish I could join you too in the other world. Watching you at the funeral today killed me. I could barely manage to ride back home." After that the pages were empty.

When she realised what he had gone through, she could understand his frustration. How difficult it was for him to imagine anyone else in her place. Maybe he married due to parental pressure. Parents are good at emotional blackmail. She felt a new love and compassion surging for him from some unknown recesses of her heart. She was determined to make things work between them. He deserved that. She packed everything and kept it back exactly where it was and went about her work with a new found meaning to her life.
