Memories of happy 31st eves have almost faded away

Memories of happy 31st eves have almost faded away now. I remember how my parents cooked poori-sabzi, an occasional dish, at noon so that we all could enjoy the television shows in the evenings. I was always the first one to fall asleep, much before midnight. At 12, they woke me up to give chocolates, and I smiled with the same happy eyes, every year.

While fighting against the life needs and meeting the deadlines every day, sleeping at 12 is a luxury for me. Poori-sabzi has been one of the regular dishes. And the 'happy' among the crowd of the Happy New Year wishes silently falls asleep now, much before the midnight. Happy new year, everyone. ❤️
