ALIENS ARE WE? Happy birthday day was a walk into

ALIENS ARE WE? Happy birthday day was a walk into time. The portal had just opened, a shiny mass of light in the corner of his room. He put on the step monitor, just in case he wandered out too far, for parallel universes had their own rules. Limits were set for people who had two way tickets to other planets in faraway galaxies. Rules were not meant to be broken. Stepping across, he entered his room and looked at the time, it was 11 am in the morning. All was nearly the same in this universe except for the Sun moving diagonally, and of a bigger size but cooler, dimmer too. The vegetation was purple and he also sported a tan, which he kind of liked.Preparations were on for his birthday here too, but a bit muted, unlike the boisterous events back at Earth. He was glad to be here, he liked the quietude and low key celebrations. All was good, his parents walked through the door, all legs and arms, blobs for heads, his species here was called the octopians, a sub species of the octopus back on Earth. They chattered in high decibels, exchanging notes. A happy family. He wasn't in a hurry to get back to Earth.
