S0METHING I LOOK AT-157

In memory of my beloved teacher
Abhilash Chandra Nayak on his 26th death anniversary

In me
You inculcated the interest
To read English
In me
You created the urge to write in English
From you
What I Require From Life was the first lesson
I received
You changed my priorities
Changed my attitude towards life
Changed my passion and
Poetry became my obsession

During my long period of unemployment
When everybody lost interest in me
You told my niece
' Go and tell your uncle not to lose hope,
For him, the sky is the limit'
Your astrology and faith in me
Stood the test of time
And proved many wrong including me.

Your love for English literature
Few can fathom
Still, fewer can feel your love
For the students you reared
Like your son.
Very few can match your English
The way you captivated your students
Steered many to perfection.
Because of u and our headmaster, the students of Our heritage school are proficient in English,
Nowhere face defeat, all are so accomplished
In your subject,
Because of your dedicated spirit.

By your grace
I am in literature
Reading and writing
Whenever I get time
To satisfy the urge
Delicately planted in me
Long back when I was at your feet
But do not know
Where do I stand?
My beloved teacher is not with me
To tell me where I erred
What to do, what not to
To guide me to reach a destination and experience A consciousness,
So higher, so richer.

Time has changed
People have changed
But your love and blessings
For your students remained the same
Remained the same respect and adoration of the Students you schooled and groomed
For whom you still matter
Who fondly remember
How you sacrificed your pleasure
A lucrative career for them
In an age when people only obsessed
With themselves
