HARBINGER OF HAPPINESS I took faltering steps in

HARBINGER OF HAPPINESS
I took faltering steps in my first ever heels
Pirouetting and prancing about in a little black dress
Little did I know I have to bear this pain
Until and unless I become a dead carcass
Ever since, I was declared a girl,
Overwhelmed by the adventures I would take.
My mother gave an 18-year-old me, a rusty book
Titled ,“Being a woman is not a piece of cake.”

“Womanhood begins with a permanent smile
Whether you sit in peace or walk a mile.
I started being a girl, learning grace
Judged publicly for my skin and face
Kohl rimmed eyes spewed fiery passion
An erudite mind beyond comprehension
Carrying a heart brimming with respect
She hardly got any time to introspect
