15/40

[Bad Poet's law of stupid choice] When you grab your phone just after the dinner you don't know how long the session is going to ruin your time. I said ruin because anything that messes up your sleeping time is nothing but the epitome of ruin. We like to make rounds of whatsapp and instagram and facebook and *gulp* yourquote hoping to find some high. We like to think the best poems come at night. I am not against the idea but it costs our health. For me, it's a bad bad deal. Also, I don't think there is a particular conducive time for writing. As long as I'm in a quite place I'm good.

Many people don't realise the importance of good sleep simply because they haven't experienced the beauty of sleep. We once went to play cricket some 50 kilometres away from the hometown. Upon our return the situation became such that we had to walk some 15 kilometres before we found ourselves in a 90 minute travel in a Maxx. Finally when I reached home I was so exhausted I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed. I still remember the time. It was 2 pm when I slept and when I woke up, boy, it was 6 in the evening. I opened my eyes and the restfulness I felt was divine. It was as if I was reborn or something. I believe it was the best sleep of my life.

Good sleep has the potential to solve most of your problems. I mean, if you wake up truly exuberant and alive in the morning; there's no reason not to seize the day! For a good sleep you must exhaust yourself physically. That's why exercise. For mental health meditations do wonders. Any meditation will do the job. It's completely up to you what kind of meditation you want to try. For a start, you can try Isha Kriya by Sadhguru. Isha Kriya before sleep will prepare you for the beautiful sleeps you're missing out on. Also, I'd love to propound another law from Bad Poet. It is the law of stupid choice. According to Bad Poet's law of stupid choice:

"Choosing smartphone over sleep is the most stupid choice in the world."
