The Pale Blue Dot

The year was 1990,
The solar sojourn was almost complete.
Voyager-I prepped to fly past Neptune,
To scour the unknown dark void.
About four million miles away from home,
Her cameras turned back for the last goodbye,
There lay a speck of dust, pale blue and lonely.
A speck of dust that we call 'home'.
All our wars,
And our struggles;
All our Gods,
And our Demons;
All our tragedies,
And our fantasies;
All our relationships,
And our hardships;
All that we hold dear,
Both beyond and near.
All in that one "Pale Blue Dot
In the vast cosmic arena."-
As Sagan once fondly said.
We're just stardust, insignificant but
special.
And that pale blue dot, our only home.
Perhaps we're all lonely,
Perhaps there maybe someone else,
But we're here for now,
And home's where our hearts lie.
