19/40 [if you have regrets, read this] Just a few

19/40

[if you have regrets, read this] Just a few minutes ago I found myself counting the things I regret in my life. I counted till seven and gave up after that. I mean, there are so many of them. And I don't think many people can say they don't regret a thing in their lives. Only two kind of people say they don't regret a thing. Number one, who claim to regret nothing but all they do is rationalise the blunders they did. Number two, who mean it when they say they don't regret anything because they always took their decisions (often difficult) with total responsibility. The second kind of people are extremely rare if you ask me. So yes, most of us regret things in our lives. Some regret one thing, some regret ten thousand.

I think it's alright to have regrets but it's not good if you regret something you did ten years ago and still can't sleep because of it. What you did might be terrible; it could be beyond anyone's imagination; and it could be a tiny thing made enormous by your mind. All in all, it could be anything! It's scary seeing people sinking their faces living through their regrets like a zombie. It's not necessary to do that. "So Bad Poet, what should I do?! How should I deal with this regret of mine back from class 8th when I stole a blind man's mango from his bag while taking him across the street?!" Glad you asked.

See the thing is, you don't have to deal with anything. Alright? Whenever a regret appears and attempts to ruin your sleep just tell your mind, "Yes, I admit I did this x years ago and I am not very proud of what I did but back in the time I didn't know any better. If I knew better, I would have done better. Now that I am years away from the incident and much more experienced and evolved than before, I am not repeating it again. And that's all I can do."

Bingo! And that's all you can do right? Learning to accept your regrets and taking full responsibility for them will help you immensely in your #40daysofhope.
