I AM A HOMELESS

A splash of water hits me on my face
That's how I wake up every morning to face
Like a wave from the sea, hitting the shore
The day awaits to hit me more and more
My morning runs are to escape the cane
Of the police who keep the city clean
Streets and alleys are my joggers park
And then the crooked lanes that are still dark
When it comes to my hunger, Mornings are tougher
As the streets are cleaner
Yet to get filled with my fodder
Empty bins and streets
Keep me search every street
Breakfasts, lunch and dinner
Are all just names to tell my hunger
None stops to ask my plight
No complaints they are on a flight
Take what is thrown, and eat what you get
Those are the sermons, the homeless get
When all sleep after lunch,
Whether it is their lunch or brunch
I sit to explore whatever I have got
Spread on road to sit down and sort
Some for the dogs sharing my fate
Some still fresh, I eat,
Rest go to bin for worms to eat
