#poetrymonth Sadness and Loneliness Sadness is a heavy cloak, That wraps around me like a yoke, It steals my joy, it steals my hope, And leaves me feeling like a broken boat. Loneliness is a silent friend, That sits beside me to the end, It whispers tales of what could have been, And leaves me with a heartache that never ends. Together they form a deadly pair, That fills my days with deep despair, And though I try to run and hide, They always find me by my side. I long for peace, I long for light, To break this darkness of the night, To chase away this endless pain, And learn to love and laugh again.
