I piteously cower at the corner Of this decrepit,

I piteously cower at the corner
Of this decrepit, flooded room--
This one that used to witness
Our spontaneous lovemaking;
Drenched and cold, I am,
Whilst the "Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh"
Of callous, insidious Mangkhut
Obliterates the remaining peace
Of my tattered, enervated heart;
I recall how you could
Instantly silence my demons,
As you flirted with my nerves;
I remember your tender caresses
That effortlessly lured me towards
The heights of oblivious rapture;
Yet, the abrasive screams
Of the execrable hurricane
Cause the same fears to resurface--
And the soothing touch of your hand
Has long abandoned my skin.
If only you opted to glance back
Before you utterly deserted my life;
Then, honey, you'd have gleaned
The need that still seeps through
My hateful, acerbic cries. "Mangkhut"

The Philippines has been deluged yesterday with the typhoon, "Mangkhut," locally known as "Ompong". We were at Signal Number 3 (100kph-180kph wind). Thankfully, it has now left the country. Though, it has strengthened the monsoon, again.
