I haven't given up on God, I have merely forsaken religion. I had long questioned the purpose behind religion; I still don't see its point – especially a lot of the practices I see still being followed blindly. And this comes from someone who used to be a devout pious person. Well, I still am a devout follower of God, I just believe I need not associate myself with a religion to identify and connect with God. I still believe in the power of the Almighty—I still believe that They're always there to protect or help when we might be at our lowest. Ergo, I identify as an #Agnostic not an #Atheist. As a matter of fact, it's been years since I stepped into a space of worship to "pay my respects", be it some local temple or shrine, or the little prayer chamber of my own house.
