Will the divine discriminate please?🙏🏽 Musings in caption.. #yqbaba #musings #divine Musings: Many summers ago, whilst sitting in the waiting room of a psychiatrist (I had consulted three of them and the waiting time then was long, really long), I would see people from every strata of society awaiting their turn to meet the one who they thought held the key to their happiness. The ones who appeared to be economically weak i.e. those who probably worked as maids or house help (their attire spoke about their profession) held my attention even whilst I was drowning in my own muck. A fleeting thought about the why and how of the illness they were forced to face used to float in my mind. I wouldn't strike up a conversation with them coz I couldn't, no thanks to my then mental condition. They must have been living a hand to mouth existence and it would be so tough for them to shell out a psychiatrist's fees. Thank God at least the affordability part was taken care of in my case. It pained me even then to know that depression strikes everybody with no discrimination whatsoever.
