A LOOK AT LIFE-110 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY THE HELPLESS CHILD Standing on earth Looking at the blue sky Pondering over the mystery And seeking an answer In wisdom and knowledge Science and metaphysics I tried to fathom And go deep into the big void That surrounds each. Standing on the seashore Looking at the waves I tried to measure the depth of the ocean Its length and breadth In a moonlit night Standing on the terrace I tried to count the innumerable stars Twinkling in the cloudless sky Sitting silently within the four walls I listened to the voice of nature Cyclones, earthquakes and tsunami Silence, flood, droughts and famine Only to see how vulnerable life is In the vastness of the Ever-expanding universe I tried to find myself, my ego and possession Only to find me, my existence And identity nowhere With my limited mind and intellect I tried to go beneath the cosmic drama To know its real purpose Only to find myself lost and drowned To trace me I miserably failed My existence was not even like a dot on the big canvas, the cosmic universe. I existed to the point of non-existence And that is the reality I do not want to accept A question arose in my mind When I do not exist Why so much of hatred and jealousy Parade of ego and vanity Leg pulling, backbiting and heart burning Are these part of the drama Or my own doing Smruti Ranjan Mohanty© #Success A LOOK AT LIFE-110 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY THE HELPLESS CHILD Standing on earth Looking at the blue sky Pondering over the mystery
