a-person-standing-on-a-beach-at-sunset Someone ask

a-person-standing-on-a-beach-at-sunset Someone asked me if I would come back to you
If I saw you now, even for a moment

At first I thought I would run to you
And water you like a flower with my tears
Or I would stand still and stare into your eyes
Until I realise you are real, not a delusion of dreamers

But trust me, I won't

I won't plunge forward to hold you like I'd thought
For you're not mine to hold anymore
I will take a step back and let you go
Like the slowly falling pieces that we tore

I don't know, I never will
What it's like to speak without poetry
For every word is ink to my pen
And every page my life's tapestry.
