Fragile paper boats we were, naive oars unreasonably exuberant in hindsight, virginal sails seduced by the transient serenity that the sea of life offered, until exhaled by the unsympathetic waters of ego & expectations. The tide changed, with more than a tinge of permanence. Our paths ran parallel, cold & aloof, never to converge. We are two separate islands now.
