love letters, written by hand, are things of the past. with the advent of the internet and the various 24-hour door-to-door deliveries; the excitement felt, when one receives personal MAIL, has waned considerably. the fact that it is so easy to connect with people, all around the world, nowadays; even values have changed. before, receiving word from a loved one, took several weeks and the letter was read several times before a reply was made. the answer had to be specific and well-thought of; in order to have clear understanding between both parties. now, easy access, to mailing and messaging, has made it too easy to reply without further thinking. sometimes, we even ignore replies, especially because we are simply too busy, to be bothered with them. which leads to another thought: has this also led us to, unknowingly, believe that people are also easily expendable, nowadays? although, that's another topic for next time. #mail #wordoftheday #people #prose #yqbaba
