let go of yourself without fear
without the need to hold on, for
In freeing yourself from all that holds you back
that crushes you and limits you
You shall find yourself in you Good morning, writers! 😊
"Not the maker of plans and promises, but rather the one who offers faithful service in small matters. This is the person who is most likely to achieve what is good and lasting."
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Did you know? 🌸
One day, 35-year-old economist, Jack Perger, decided to pursue medicine and be of service to people in need. While studying at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Jack received an appeal to work in the area where refugees arrived from Bangladesh during the 1971 war. When he tried to raise a voice against the powerful and corrupt authorities encouraging social evils, he was asked to leave Bangladesh. But instead of taking a flight back home, he decided to shift his medical practice to India. Since he had learnt Bangla and Urdu, West Bengal seemed like a good place to start.

Jack started treating the marginalised communities in Kolkata who lay under bridges, on railway platforms and in drainage pipes. Here too, his motives to help Indians were questioned by authorities and a number of legal details were continuously brought up to harass him. He was even jailed for sometime, but through it all, he persevered to help Kolkata's poor. 🙏
