Resting Elbow

Upon the field where death does reign,
A young soldier’s body was brutally slain,
No cry, or the scream could be heard,
A silent young soul left the world.

The fighting was done, the battle was won,
But at the cost of our brave young son,
For our brethren, he died in glee,
His soul now soaring proud and finally be free.

No more the sound of bullets fly,
No more the need to bleed or die,
For in the arms of death he rests,
Forever-more among the blessed.

So let us honor the brave soul,
Who paid the price, the ultimate toll,
The courage so high, a soldier so true,
Who fought and died for me and you,
And let his resting elbow be,
A sign of peace, courage and victory.
