a-person-standing-on-a-beach-at-sunset The Ashes of Us

Across the miles, where love once grew,
We built a bridge, a dream of two.
Whispers crossed the endless seas,
Promises carried on fragile breeze.

But time, the thief, with steady hand,
Eroded the ties we tried to withstand.
Distance stretched our fragile thread,
Words unsaid, now left for dead.

The screen’s cold glow could not replace
The warmth I craved, your touch, your face.
And though our hearts fought to ignite,
The flame burned low, then faded to night.

Now here I stand, amidst the dust,
Holding the ashes of broken trust.
Love’s echo lingers, soft and true,
But the "us" we dreamed is lost to the blue.
