In our lives we meet thousands of faces, faces that love us for money, for power, for greed and then there are those, those noble faces, those selfless souls on earth that find love in humanity , that find comfort in helping others.. #thepark (story in caption) Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of city life, there was a small park at the corner of an isolated street. Very few people knew about. It was no fancy park like you see these days. Just a few trees here and there, little shrubs, two or three wooden benches surrounded a middle playground for kids.Only a few locals and kids from the nearby slum would visit in the evening hours. One breezy evening, an old man, huffed as he approached the bench after a brisk walk of 40minutes. I must say thats a lot for his age. But, as they say age is just a number! He unfastened his waist pouch and sat on the bench. Moments while he caught his breath, he took a sip of water. "Ah, that's all for today! " . He rested his face between both palms, observing his surroundings. He could hear distant sounds of birds ,returning back home. Kids playing on the swings and running around the place, yelling without any fear. It was a routine for him to observe the same people around and smiling back to everyone who used pay a visit everyday. With no verbal conversations actually taking place, there were bonds formed,as if they knew each other since past lives. That very evening, he saw a different face , sitting on a bench a little away from being noticed. He thought, he saw her crying, but wasn't really sure of it. A young woman in her mid twenties! Dressed like a lady, belonging to a rich family, he had guessed. Something that got him wondering, " what is a woman of her stature doing in this park all alone? ". As is the human nature, the old man grew curious. Now not withholding his curiosity he stood up, and was about to take a step towards her. Suddenly he hears a voice, "Mumma,I want to go home". The old man tilt his head slightly left and saw a small child, a girl about 4 or 5 year old, dark brown hair, green eyes, fair complexion, plump as a red apple. The young woman, quickly looked away, wiped her tears and held the little girl in her arms, "yes, my baby, we'll go soon, as soon as papa comes with his car and picks us up! " Little did the girl knew, papa was no more in this world. Yes, you heard it right. She was the daughter of a very well established business man. Time had other plans. Their business took a U-turn and they were back to square one. Loans on high interest rates borrowed and not repaid, home and office mortgaged and were sealed due to non-payment. Their life was in total chaos. With so much burden to bear, the little girl's father could hold no more, depression had taken over all his thought process and he surrendered himself to death. It is in these tough times that you know who really are your friends. Everyone they thought to be dear had turned them away. With nowhere to go, she had remembered the park where she once spent her childhood. Hoping to reunite with a stranger who had helped her once, when other kids bullied her. With a little hope and prayers she sat there with her baby. The old man approached them and said, "my child, is there anything I can do to lighten up your day? " The young woman looked up, his face looked familiar, but with more wrinkles and huge glasses, it was difficult to say for sure it was him. They talked for hours and until it was time to close the park. The old man had heard her story patiently and asked them to stay with him and his family. He said, "my family would love to welcome two adorable girls".
