One piece of wood To turn back the hands of travesty; One tiny girl who thought That all could be as it should be; One little sinner on the brink Of a full-blown, miasmic lunacy-- The silent world looks on As she snuffs out the forbidden fire, Anticipating safe ignominy And blessed, dependable adversity; A diminutive glimmer of hope Sits on her restless knee. Ah, the perils of blind-sighted trust And delusion-filled infinity! Although, a wish whispers itself, Creating such alluring imagery; Thus, she stokes the dying embers And lights up the hibernating night, Anticipating a beautiful miracle; But then, she loses her sight. One piece of wood Creates flickers of life-- Shadows that hover and glower Until they eat her up alive. "The Decisions We Make" #TheDecisionsWeMake #diwa #yqbaba
