TITLE – Festival or Organization – Leadership is a necessity: let’s rejoice life.

October is the most delightful month. As mentioned by Hal Borland - With fallen leaves and a wider horizon, we can see the distant hills and enduring constellations above.  Sarah Guillory beautifully narrated October as - with marvellous possibilities summer becomes a distant memory and the golden leaves brings around lot of adventures. 

October is the month of festivals. There is little variation in season but lot of vividity in its upcoming series of festivals like Durga Puja, Navratri, Dussera & Diwali.  Festivals have magnetic impact on people and business. From East to West, North to South wherever we go in India we experience different colours and flavours in culture, language and business.

Festivals bind all of us in a single knot. Durga puja engrosses the people with grand celebrations. Pandals are set up in every locality and Durga idol is worshiped there. People from remote faraway places come to sell various attractive articles and public go for overgenerous feasting.

Dussehra is celebrated all over India with extreme joy and happiness. This is one of the most prevalent festivals in October in India and marks the demise of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhakarna.
 
One of the chief events in October, India Art Festival is a contemporary art festival where art enthusiasts, art buyers, specialists, history freaks, publishers, and critics meet for seminars and exhibitions. The aim is to provide a platform for social and business networking in the field of art and culture. Going towards the West in Rajasthan we can see Maand festival during Sharad Purnima where people rejoice with Horse riding, magic shows, puppet shows, Camel Tattoo Shows, and Horse Polo. This attracts lots of tourists and enhances the beauty of the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mandore, and Mehrangarh Fort and it is certainly a sight worth witnessing! 

Festivals boost business – people buy new things and the retailers also provide many promotional activities to augment business. So, business have a gala time for profit. There is happiness all around. People also go for charitable activities. This is a part of present-day organizations where for Corporate Social responsibility a part of the company’s profit is utilized for the betterment of downtrodden people in the nearby vicinity of business.

Behind all good activity there are group of efficient people with sharp bent of mind. For carrying out any kind of activity and to attain success we need an association of good efficient people headed by a person who is responsible, disciplined, punctual, rational and intelligent who is a leader who motivates his/her team for achieving goal.
  
The symbiotic relationship between leadership and teamwork can barely be exaggerated. In a progressively knowledge-intensive world, even the most competent leader would see failure if the team led by him/her fails to measure leader’s objectives and get derailed. Undeniably, teams can be rudderless without operative and wise leaders. Noticeably, leadership and teamwork cannot exist without each other. They have to be balanced, synchronized, and synergized for optimal organizational performance towards successful results.

Leadership and teamwork weave the dynamic fabric of organizations. Teams are basically temporary organizations with specific objectives, capitals, and timeframes. The reason being, both the tactical objectives and strategic goals of the organization are achieved principally through team effort and not by accident.
 
Both leadership and teamwork are driven by critical soft skills that need to be drilled prudently, and in a well-adjusted manner. This equilibrium between leadership and teamwork is authoritative to ensure that both are implemented not only as two sides of the same coin but with interdependence as they derive inspiration for success from each other. Undeniably, the best leaders inspire their groups to achieve responsibilities and goals well beyond their own expectations (Bass, 1990). The concept of leadership carries many different meanings and is often viewed as identical with other, equally complex concepts—like power, authority, management, administration, and supervision (Lim, 2001). Leadership in organization is a set of behaviour that empowers a person to exercise an interpersonal stimulus on a cluster of people.

Organizations of present days are functioning in dwindling business environment. Lot of investment is done in technology upgradation, process improvement, structuring system. Collaterally improving human productivity should be never-ending effort. Performance excellence leads to business excellence. Doing simple things perfectly. multiskilling and multitasking capabilities of employees. a company is a social institution. its existence depends upon the harmonious relationship with multiple segments of society
. 
As a true leader one needs to be inquisitive. Pain is often a precursor to personal growth. One has to identify about one’s passion, try to make own fortune, realise self-potentials and harness one’s skills. We should Grab the opportunity that come across, make ourselves different from others, set a goal that we want to achieve, make positive effort.
 
Discipline is the soul of an army. Quality is never an accident, it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort intelligent direction and skilful execution, it represents the wise choice of many alternatives. Be polite, keep away from lies, be sensitive to others, show people that you care, be independent, think clearly keep focused, have passion and optimism, be imaginative.

 Organisational leadership is an amalgamated of skills and behaviours empowering an individual to exercise an interpersonal stimulus on a group of people. The leader’s dream and determination are thus attained by guiding and inspiring the team to achieve the anticipated set of goals intended by the leader.  Undeniably, leadership is an innate feature of an individual that motivates the team for transforming leader vision and authenticity. The eventual achievement of a leader is to coax followers to do outwardly incredible acts.

Whether it is business, association, social responsibility, celebrating festival or other commitment with a reason, all needs a guide or leader, and the leader needs a collaborative team. Todays organizations are surviving in volatile business scenario where there is cutting edge competition. So, the right person in the right time in the right place is the requirement of any organization or association to survive. 
After all it has always been celebration of life for the survival of the fittest!
