With wild animals becoming regular guests on our streets, and the air quality improving in multiple cities due to lockdown, we are now paying attention to the details of nature. Delhi has the 2nd highest bird diversity among national capitals in the world. The birds were always there. The animals always lived in some corners of these cities. We just never heard them over the clutter of our own lives. The lockdown is only a temporary respite for nature. To reverse years of destruction, we will need massive efforts.
