What does freedom count for in a woman's life... Read in caption As important as oxygen is for survival, so important is freedom for any living thing, not just a woman. Even a plant when constricted doesn't grow properly or flower well. Its growth gets stunted. An animal in wilderness is a joy to watch whereas those in cages seem to have lost their charm. Now, coming to a woman, no materialistic objects can ever equate or compensate her quest for freedom. The frustration she feels when she is tied down with rules and conditions is unexplainable. Right from her inception she is made to hear as a foetus how unwanted she is and how she is a burden to those around. The lucky ones who are safely born are given differential treatment. They are restricted and restrained in million different ways. As she grows up she loses her freedom to travel alone without fear,to wear the dresses she would love to, for fear of being molested. She is not allowed to roam around freely. She is forced to believe that being docile and submissive is being 'feminine'. Even the most broadminded parents are forced to curb their daughters merely because they fear their safety. She is stifled and caged in every stage of her life.
