A heavy shower, and my family making their way through it, It all seemed that the Goddess of Rain bestowed her power... With gleaming eyes, My sister awaited for her angel's arrival, She was then given a chance to give me a name sweet and nice... Amidst the rain and thunder, There came a moment, When I embraced the world with wonder... It seems that seeing her excitement, I smiled at her, And looking out of the window she named me 'Varshini', Appreciating the name, how happy my relatives were ! Working amidst the snow-capped mountains and deep valleys, My dad smiled on the thought of a cute daughter, He was then reminded of the responsibility of all daddies... 'Varshini !' - my mother calls and I run hearing my name, And everytime I hear the raindrops pitter-pattering on my roof, I am reminded of that story with which is associated my identity - my name...
