He said " I give you complete freedom. I permit you to do as you wish. " What an irony! People fail to understand that freedom isn't something to be given. It is something which cannot be given but stands to be taken suomoto by the individual in question. He felt he was liberal and broad-minded.He didn't realise his attitude was condescending.
