Owing to her co-passenger who was a doctor and 15 surgeries later, she became a counsellor in hospitals. And today, this social worker and a mother of two, has become a guardian angel for hundreds of acid attack survivors in India. Her NGO, Atijeevan Foundation finances the medical costs and critical sugeries like skin grafting. She also conducts skill development workshops for survivors to enable them to live with dignity.
