Shattered Soul

In the quiet dawn, I rise,
A shadow of what I once was,
Holding onto the threads of hope,
That today, perhaps today,
Your voice might break this silence,
Might stitch the pieces of my shattered soul.
Morning creeps through the window,
With golden rays that once warmed me,
But now they burn,
For they illuminate the emptiness beside me,
Where you used to be,
Where your presence used to fill the air.

I wait, with bated breath,
For a message, a word, a sign,
That I still linger in your thoughts,
That you still remember the love we shared,
But the hours stretch,
And the silence grows heavier,
Like a weight pressing on my chest.
Noon passes, the sun high and bright,
Mocking my loneliness,
The world bustling outside,
While inside, I'm a ghost,
Drifting through the remnants of us,
Replaying moments in my mind,
Clinging to the echoes of your laughter.

Afternoon fades into dusk,
The sky bleeding into shades of sorrow,
And still, I wait,
My heart a fragile thing,
Beating out a rhythm of despair,
Each pulse a reminder,
Of how you used to be my everything.
The night falls, deep and cold,
And with it, my hope crumbles,
Into the dust of forgotten dreams,
I am broken, beyond repair,
A shattered soul, lost in the darkness,
Waiting for a light that never comes.

I whisper your name into the void,
But it returns empty, hollow,
As if the universe itself,
Has forgotten us,
Has erased the love we built,
Leaving me alone,
In this endless night.
I am nothing now,
A mere shadow,
A reflection of the pain,
That echoes through my veins,
I am shattered,
Pieces scattered across the floor,
Of a life that no longer feels like mine.
But is now only pain.
