For a covid-19 patient, the social embarassment is devastatingly stressful and to lose a beloved one to this disease is tragic. Two days ago a 29 year old female covid-19 patient hanged herself at Nair hospital. Yesterday a family was taken for tests and the head of the family fainted and injured his head out of fear and anxiety. An elderly man suffered a heart attack when some municipal authorities came for testing at his place. Few days ago a man who was shamed in his village for giving lift to two covid-19 patients committed suicide due to the social boycott of his family. Add to that the constant boiling news of the virus and the heinous reports about attack on doctors from many parts of the country continue to be a source for concern.
