we can gain a lot

and it all depends
on our thought. Good morning, writers! 😊

Ever since the countrywide lockdown was imposed, Ayaz Faquih, an auto-driver from Navi Mumbai, couldn't stand the sight of people in need of urgent medical attention, struggle for public transportation. With the help of his daughter, he immediately made a banner with 'Emergency free rides' written along with his phone number. He also gave his number to hospitals and clinics offering the front line health workers free rides. From a lady in labour, an elderly with muscle pain to a child with high fever, Ayaz has given over 200 free rides to the needy so far. Every time a passenger offers to get his CNG filled as a token of gratitude, he politely refuses. Instead, he asks for their blessings and prayers to end the pandemic. Seeing his dedication and enthusiasm, the Urban Municipal Health Department sanitises Ayaz's auto (which he named Khidmat, meaning selfless service of others) every day for free. 🙏🏻❤️

Like Ayaz, Purushottamlal Gupta, an auto driver from Thane, who is known for his plantation activities, is also going out of his way to help citizens amidst the lockdown. He is aiding his fellow drivers and construction workers by distributing ration kits from NGOs for free. Using social media, he collected donations, owing to which he has been able to distribute ration kits to almost 90 families so far. When asked if he fears to visit hotspot areas of the city, he says that helping strangers as we would our family members, is the need of the hour. 😇❤️
