#OpenPoetry The In-betweeners I am one of those lucky few Those lucky few who are somewhere in between I am the connecting dot between two generations I am a hinge between ‘Gen X’ and the ‘Millenials’ I am the aesthetics of the 90s I am also the liberal of the 2000s I am one of those who would not sleep Not sleep because a show on ‘Cartoon Network’ was next I am also one of those who subscribes to ‘Netflix’ every single month I went from from watching Sachin Tendulkar say "aila" To now Virat Kohli say "MC BC" all the time I went from collecting Marvel comics as a kid To now watching Avengers freaking Endgame I am two generations immersed as one Having seen both The humane touch to existence And also the overpowering technology I am the pre cell phone era One who would wait near the only telephone for a call I am also the one who tweets, shares and posts All at the drop of a hat I am one of those lucky few Those lucky few who are somewhere in between I am not fully apathetic to ‘mental health’ As apathetic as my predecessors were Nor have I become totally detached Totally detached as the future is I have seen growth Been a part of it Long enough to understand Understand the change Understand the implications Which should make me a responsible citizen For I am the hinge that connects And it is only me who can say That I have seen the beauty of change While retaining the aura of the old
