Thanks and gratitude to eminent poet and literary

Thanks and gratitude to eminent poet and literary critic Sri Himanshu Jena for his deep insight and critical appreciation of the poem in beautiful words

Revered Smruti Ranjan Sir,
Your poem, I and you are but one reveals the eternal truth of unity and harmony in all creations, animate -inanimate,living-non-living amid varied diversities. The poet has rightly expressed in matchless poetic grace, Unity is the basis of all.., which show it's unity that is the foundation of all things, bright and beautiful, visible and invisible. If we perceive things of nature minutely, we will feel miracles behind the diversified culture, religion ,nation, region, language, colour, habit, custom, attitude, behaviour, ritual, meadow, mountain, cluster of stars, flora and fauna .The same cosmic conscience lies in every being and thing ,that harmonizes the unity of existence. The slightest change derails the order of symmetry and threatens the core of peaceful coexistence. The current problems, wars, struggles, divisions, etc that we are facing are the reflections of self -interest, ego, hatred, greed, pride or jealousy as the poet categorically cited, out of lack of knowledge of self -realization and absolute truth, beauty and goodness in all. Our source is one that is Almighty and mingle in Him in the end though we are of different shapes and sizes, creeds and colours, breeds and buds. Congratulations to the poet for composing such a unique poem of the highest spiritual order for inculcating the cult of divine unity amid all differences among all of us for a peaceful universe.

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-95
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

I AND YOU ARE BUT ONE

unity is the basis of all that
we see and perceive and what
lies beyond our vision and perception
diversity looking so prominent
is but an illusion
the fantasy of an immature mind
ignorant of its real nature and vision

look around
nations and regions
languages and colours
habits and customs
attitudes and behaviours
religions and rituals
meadows and mountains
plants and animals
oceans, rivers and rivulets
plateaus and mountains
stars and cluster of stars
flora and fauna
things and beings look so different
and diverse
what is that unity
that fulfils and nourishes, binds and sustains the whole universe?

things are in order
a slight change in the gravitational pull
or movement of celestial bodies
will let the universe collapse
everything and being are from the same source
and that pull towards the centre
keeps things together
the difference and diversity that look so prominent is but an illusion
because we see things not as they are
but as we think them to be

though we look different
we are the same cosmic consciousness manifested in various forms
one has become many and
many will become one
and the urge to transform, expand and contract inherent in each
the process of evolution and involution being the only reality

the problems we encounter
the wars and struggles we witness
the division among us, so prominent
the parade of naked self interest
ego, hatred, greed, pride and jealousy
are due to lack of knowledge
identification of self with a form, a body,
its pleasure and pain
the panacea lies in understanding oneself
we are not many but one
we identify with the body and forget our
essential oneness, our real nature
truth, bliss and absolute
when someone sees the difference between him and whatever he sees and perceives
he is a victim of duality and illusion
when he worships god, he worships himself
by loving someone he only loves himself
by hating someone he only hates himself
love, hatred, ego, jealousy are all his
the object and subject is the same
it is one and one only
that has become many and many will become one
the source of all sources are but one
ocean in a drop of water and a drop of water in the ocean all the same
in the ocean, a drop water loses its identity
when the ocean becomes a drop water
it feels as if it is a separate entity
dolls made out of mud are nothing
but mud in different forms
air and water in various containers
are but air and water only
until and unless we are close to the real
we that we are and identify with the whole
there can hardly be any unity
tangible and permanent

when there is no duality
one and one only
the question is not of unity
but realisation of the reality
unveiling the veil to know the real self
i, you, he, she, they, we, animate andinanimate are but one
the purpose of life on earth
is only to realise our essential oneness
the moment we unmask the mask of
ignorance and make belief identity, we will experience nothing but
that big void, our own consciousness infinitely expanding, swallowing the whole
of the universe and becoming one with it
