You liked my hair, open, partitioned in the middle

You liked my hair, open, partitioned in the middle, with a straight line that my comb draws, to seperate the sides.

And now we lie on the edge of the love, like the middle strands of hair, that that couldn't hug each other close when the comb drew a line between them.
The religion combed you and me on opposite sides. Too close, but not together.

And since then, I always make sure to
tie the lovers together, in a ponytail. My guess - Comb.
A society where you can't stay in love if you belong to different religions.
