Gnarled, weary hands, caressing The worn-out heart-- Bleeding and weeping itself, out. "Thy shall survive, my love," The old woman whispers to it. Yet, the 'eart has gone through, too much-- It surmises, adamantly. Demoralized and vexed, now. For all, its endeavors, Got quashed to smithereens. But, the ancient lady is wise. Tenderly, she declares, "Nay, nary a 'don't', dear one; Because, this life is wounding; Yet, thou art made of more resilience, Than thine ever fathomed. Thy shall see thyself rise-- Far loftier than any phoenix has. I shall see to that, too." And, with that, the young heart smiles, at last. For, knowing that someone, shall be with it-- Whilst it grips and chokes the shadows-- Is more than enough.
